FAQ

Q. I am new to massage, what should I expect?

A. First-time massages can be a little intimidating. Rest assured, we will do what we can to make your visit as comfortable as possible.

Going In: The massage therapist will take you to a room where you can ask about their process, or they may explain it to you. You can share any areas you want to avoid or focus on, as well as any sensitive spots. The therapist will step out to give you privacy to undress and get on the table. Most therapists will likely ask you to remove everything except for your underwear, but you can wear as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.

Draping: While you’re on the table, you will be covered by a sheet and blanket, just like being tucked in bed. This cover protects your privacy and comfort. If you ever feel uncomfortable, please let us know! We cannot provide services undraped, as draping is required by Florida’s Massage Therapy Board.

Feedback: Feedback is crucial. If anything makes you uncomfortable—pressure, area, temperature, music, talking—please let us know. We want you to feel comfortable.

Aftercare: Hydrate! The best time to drink water is right after your massage, when your circulation improves and your body removes waste. This can help prevent soreness. If you have questions about how you feel after your massage, please reach out to us at hello@ilovehaven.com.

Q. What is the difference between Swedish (relaxation) and Deep Tissue Massage?

A. Swedish or Relaxation massage focuses on the surface and aims to relax the nervous system, improve skin circulation, and provide overall relaxation. It's generally standardized for most clients, using light to moderately firm pressure with various oils, lotions, or creams.

Deep Tissue massage targets specific muscle issues, such as neck or shoulder pain. It doesn't always involve the hardest pressure; instead, it uses enough force to relax surface muscles so deeper tissues can be treated. Technique is key in deep tissue work, including where to apply pressure and which muscles to focus on, as well as the type of lotion used. Oil is often avoided since it can hinder grip on deeper muscles. Deep tissue may feel intense for some, but therapists can adjust pressure for comfort. These massages are tailored to address individual needs, which can vary with each session.

Q. I am new to getting facials, what should I expect?

A. Our facials are relaxing and address your skin concerns. Consider your goals before booking. Most of your skincare needs can be met with Haven’s Custom Facial, which includes deep cleansing and exfoliation. You can enhance it with optional upgrades. For more specific issues, contact us at hello@ilovehaven.com. We’re here to help!

There is no aftercare needed for our basic facials. Some add-ons may require you to avoid certain products or change your routine for a few days. If you have a special event coming up, let your esthetician know!

Q. What is a chemical peel?

A. Chemical peels use acids or enzymes to exfoliate your skin and uncover fresher, smoother layers. They help reduce wrinkles, dullness, acne, dark spots, redness, and scars. Our peels mainly target the top layer of skin (epidermis) and usually require no downtime or extensive aftercare. You can add a chemical peel to Haven’s Custom Facial.

Q. Can I receive massage or skincare while pregnant?

A. Absolutely! We have a prenatal massage service made for expecting mothers, and our skincare line is completely safe for those who are expecting! We offer a prenatal menu with massage and skincare services tailored to your needs. We do require that you are at least 12 weeks along before coming in.

Q. How do I buy a gift card?

A. Digital gift cards can be purchased on our site, and physical gift cards are available in our lobby. Our gift cards never expire and can be used for any service or product at Haven. Gift cards cannot be refunded, but can be transferred to someone else. You can read more about that here!

Q. I received a gift card, how do I book a service?

A. We have a booking page specifically for gift card recipients on our main Menu page. Look for the button that says “Book with a Gift Card”. You will be asked for a credit card, but will not be charged.

Q. What is your cancellation policy?

A. We understand that life happens, and appointments need to be cancelled or rescheduled. We also want you to understand that repeated cancellations and no-shows mean loss of income for us. We ask that you let us know ASAP if you can't make your appointment with us. Otherwise…

  • Cancellations less than 6 hours before your session, and no calls/no shows will result in a forfeit of your deposit (50% of the service cost); we will either retain the deposit, or charge the deposit to your gift voucher if applicable.

  • Perpetual cancellations may be subjected to a 50% fee as well as limited scheduling availability.

  • Arrivals more than 15 minutes past your appointment time may result in shortened service time.

  • Arrivals more than 20 minutes past your appointment time may result in cancellation of your service and forfeit of your deposit.

Q. Do you offer a membership?

A. Yes we do! Our membership offers a discount program where you pay $58.50 monthly for $65 in services. You can upgrade that service for a reduced fee. Plus, anything else you book or purchase (with a few exceptions) are 10% off. You can read more here.

Q. What are your hours?

A. We do not maintain “office hours” and are by appointment only. The best way to reach us with any questions is to text 850.752.0089 or email helllo@ilovehaven.com. You can see pricing and availability and schedule appointments by selecting your desired service on our website.
