Enjoy Holiday Eating Without the Guilt
If you’re anything like the rest of us, you will be invited to more than one dinner gathering during the holidays. If you are trying to eat healthy this holiday season, these tips might help.
Drink water before you head over to the festivities. This will keep you from being so hungry that you have to binge on snacks before the main meal. You can even eat a healthy snack before you get there.
Get in a 5-10 min workout (walk, jog, bike ride, etc) before you go. You’ll feel better about having a bite of that yummy pie on the counter!
Bring over healthy side dishes. Roasted veggies, fruit, and salad are all great options for filling you up before dessert.
“Everything in moderation, including moderation.” -Oscar Wilde.
Don’t sweat your eating habits too much. Aim for the goal of gentle balance rather than hardcore extremes. Putting stress on yourself about food can actually make you turn to food for comfort. Breaking this cycle is much more difficult than working off a couple of sugar cookies. Let yourself enjoy the season!
